I checked out the website for your magazine, and it looks really interesting, not your usual venture for hipster-wanna-bes at all; much more humanitarian with a lot more heart. I have a couple of ideas for independent enterprises with a similar spirit myself, and am actually mulling jumping ship to make them happen. It was inspiring to talk to people who seem to think along the same lines.

In a time when the small communities within the greater Brooklyn area struggle to establish themselves and shed the various stigmatisms that seem to hover around them, Block Magazine promotes growth from within and pride throughout Brooklyn. Read it, support it, and get to know the dynamic and passionate people who comprise it. It is a unique entity and, through Block Magazine, we each have a unique opportunity to partake in the incarnation of something new and special.

Block is informative, as well as enjoyable. It keeps me up to date on everything going on in my busy neighborhood, and also includes fun stories about the local folks. What I love most about Block is the strong sense of community it promotes among everyone in Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Keep it up, you guys are great!

It's not everyday you pick up a magazine or any publication really in an unknown neighborhood and first off have a desire to read it, second, actually enjoy reading it and third, get a real sense of what it's like to live there. I'd never been to Williamsburg, never even heard of Block, picked it up in a little shop somewhere off the strip. It's one hell of a job. I write myself, and appreciate the passion that goes into putting this book together. Cheers!

I admire Block as a much-needed outlet geared towards the newer population of Williamsburg. It has done a great job of bringing important neighborhood issues to the attention of people who might otherwise be too busy to seek out information. Coverage of rezoning was always on point.
