About UsBlock Magazine covers the communities in which it is published in a comprehensive, innovative and accessible manner. In order for Block Magazine to succeed in its mission it must be made up of the many unique faces and places within the neighborhoods it serves. And thankfully, it is! Block Magazine is not just an extension but a reflection of its community and it’s because of the many talented, resident freelance writers, reporters, editors, photographers, graphic designers, illustrators and interns that Block Magazine is able to serve its community in the most intimate yet proficient manner. Local politicians, activists, community groups, charity organizations and the many neighborhood businesses support Block Magazine in countless ways, enabling it to be the best possible resource it can be. Block Magazine was founded September of 2002 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and has served the communities of Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Bushwick by publishing 6,000 magazines every two weeks. Evan Tobias, an English major from Indiana University and Eric Harris Pavony, a Journalism major from The George Washington University, have written for and edited magazines for over six years and believe that Block Magazine will establish a revolutionary method of community journalism. Block Magazine is constantly growing, always striving to do more and to do it better. As Block Magazine continues to expand we’ll be sure to keep you up to date. Feel free to contact Evan Tobias and Eric Harris Pavony at their respective email addresses for more information on anything concerning Block Magazine and the communities it serves. eric@blockmagazine.comBlock Magazine StaffASSOCIATE EDITOR OPEN MAG EDITOR DESIGNER STAFF PHOTOGRAPHER STAFF ILLUSTRATOR EDITORIAL INTERN BLOCK WEBSITE DESIGNED BY |
